If I am injured in an auto accident am I free to choose the kind of health care I receive?
Yes, most personal injury victims involved in auto accidents are covered for all reasonable and necessary chiropractic, medical, hospital, dental surgical, ambulance and certain other expenses for one year from the accident up to a maximum of $15,000. Some policies have higher amounts and longer periods. You are free to choose the type of care you receive and the source of treatment. The coverage is called Personal Injury Protection or “PIP”. It is “no-fault” coverage. It does not matter who caused the accident.
